The Why…

We have been retained by the CEO of a Development/Development Management business with an exemplary track record of both private and public sector placemaking and re-development.

As part of his succession planning we are looking to hire a top COO/MD to help run the business day to day, manage the existing team of circa 10 individuals, drive the business forward in terms of new work (in Commercial/Mixed/Resi/BTR sectors) and create a legacy that will both reward you financially and with a legacy to be proud of.

The right individual will drive the business forward into it’s next phase of growth and will ultimately have the opportunity to take over the running of the business in 3-5 years time.

The Role itself

Leading the business through the next 5 year growth plan by both generating new Development,  DM and AM opportunities with private sector clients, local authorities and institutional investment partners as well as growing the existing client base.

Driving performance and development of the existing team and ensuring they are fully engaged with personal development plans and progression opportunities.

Hiring new high-performing team members to further delight clients and increase the capacity to deliver work.

Take a lead role in evolving the growth plan with the current CEO ensuring agreed focus and engagement from the wider team.

Grow the business to 3x current size in the 5 year plan through both organic growth and potential acquisition of other platforms.

What do you need to bring?

Intrapreneurial spirit – run the business like it is your own.

Work Winning – Ability and track record of winning Development Management and/or Asset Management fee based work as well as having a contact book of those you can engage in Strategic Land/asset ownership, Investment/Development funding and Public Sector. Help the business to make a real splash allowing the CEO get in front of more prospective clients with you.

Empathy and EQ – A leader that listens and earns respect by doing so.

Financials & Investment – A solid knowledge of finance, investment and funding would be highly beneficial.

Finer Details

London based (with flexibility – common sense approach). Could also be based Part-time in the North.
